Question by animefan90: Nixon or Lumix digital camera?
Do you think it would be better for me to get a Nixon or a Lumix digital camera? I cant decide.

I have several Nikon SLRs: F100, D50, D200.
It's a no brainer. Go for the Lumix! Surprised? Nikon is building better P&S cameras these days, but they aren't quite as good as some of the others yet.
Panasonic, on the other hand, makes some phenomenal P&S cameras! Unfortunately, they have no idea how to market them, so they don't have the reputation that they should. If it's got Leica glass and optical stabilization, pounce on it! They are very capable cameras.

I think this camera does what it promises. If you want faster performance as one person said, use a faster memory card, or use a DSLR. Still nothing faster than that. Like say a Canon 7D, and so on. Point and shoots aren’t the last word in fast. Don’t care whose it is. This camera isn’t perfect, but you can do a whole lot worse. Try a Casio lately??

The video was ok – but the camera is GREAT! For it’s size and price, you can’t beat it. The 10X zoom and wide angle lens gives you a lot of flexibility for shot composure – the (multiple) face recognition also helps in making your impromptu group photos look their best. The only thing that kind of bothers me is that the flash is a little small – but you can be a little closer to your subject and still get everything into frame with the wider angle.

It’s a piece of garbage. The person probably don’t even use the camera for real trip shot. This shit is exactly the same as many camera out there, the images is painfully slow when store direct into memory card. By the time it done, the thing you wanna capture, gone.
